There are so many moving parts to a wedding, it’s easy to get overwhelmed and
lose that cohesive sense of flow that makes the entire event feel well-put-together.
From the bridal details to the ceremony aesthetic to the reception decor,
every aspect is an opportunity to emphasize the couple’s style (and lifestyle!) together -
which is exactly what Erica & Jay accomplished with flying colors!

Today’s post is what we think of as the “anatomy” of a wedding -

The JW Marriott’s Calusa Terrace features stunning views of open skyline and gorgeous waterfront.
It paired perfectly with the fresh citrus and organic wicker of the ceremony decor.
Tom Trovato is always bringing such creativity to his work!

Everywhere we looked all day, there were fresh florals - Tom Trovato knows how to use a space!

The Calusa Ballroom at the JW Marriott offered the perfect amount of space for Erica & Jay’s guests to gather.
To spice it up, Mobile Sound Entertainment added the whimsical lighting!

If there’s anything we’re most passionate about when it comes to weddings,
it’s definitely the idea that the big day is just that: a wedding!
It’s not a dress rehearsal (no re-do’s!), or a staged show (although there might be one thrown in the mix at the reception), and it’s not a studio photoshoot.
It’s a real, live event, full of moments and memories that go by at lightning speed -
and we’re there to help capture it all.
That was Mindy & Ryan’s main concern during our initial call:
they didn’t want stale, staged, tired photography, and they didn’t want the day to feel like a photoshoot.
They were getting MARRIED!
Enter: MSP.

In case you can’t tell from how calm, cool, and collected everyone looks, this was SUCH a smooth
wedding day. With all the details in place, CocoLuna executed on delivering a laid-back,
enjoyable experience for the couple and their loved ones…
(the beauty of the Hyatt didn’t hurt either).

The aesthetic of the event design was simple, clean, and fresh.
With all-white florals, lush greenery, and an emphasis on the natural environment surrounding them,
Mindy & Ryan kept things really elegant (with help from Something Bloomed).

Last month, we covered 4 of the main styles for bridal bouquets -
we hope you had half as much fun reviewing them as we did gathering photos of them!

This month, we’ll look at some fun alternatives to those discussed earlier, and provide some inspiration for your big day!

-Hand-Tied-

To understand a hand-tied bouquet, think “next-level natural”!
Designed without wire to support precise placement, this structure is meant to resemble that fresh, hand-picked look you’d get if you had just walked out of a meadow… you know, in your beautiful bridal gown and perfect hair and make-up!
The natural gathering of the floral and greenery is finished off with ribbon, fabric, or other soft material - making this type of bouquet perfect for that bohemian, organic feel!

More of an idea for inspiration than a “style”, we absolutely love to see little nuggets of fun hidden inside bridal bouquets!
Gems, pearls, pretty much ANYTHING pretty can be artfully added in to the design of your floral, and that includes mementos of people you love, times you’ve spent, or goals you want to achieve. One of the bouquets below featured a hidden compass, meant to signify the couple’s promise that they’ll never stop exploring the world and having adventures together… ::swoon!::
This is an amazing way to personalize your bouquet, so get creative!

-Alternative Ideas-

We love things that are different!
The bouquets here were chosen to be included because there’s something about them
that’s just a little unique, special, and oh-so-to-die-for!

Whether it’s floral choice, shape, or another way to think outside the bouquet-box, we dig it!

The bouquet above features a crescent shape, which is rounded and meant to be held
more with an arm than with a hand. It adds so much drama and impact!
Below, this elegant-tropical design features more than one big, beautiful, statement flower!
There are roses, orchids, and white lilies - all of which can carry a design on their own,
but that work together here to create something super gorgeous and special!

Floral Symphony & Fabulously Chic Weddings

The bouquet below features a piece of floral we rarely see included in bridal bouquets - the King Protea! It’s the national flower of South Africa, and with its big head and unique look, it is SUCH a showstopper!

Whether it’s an exact match or just the overall “feel” and aesthetic that compliment each other, it’s a great way to follow through on the expectation you’ve set for your guests with that gorgeous invitation!

With portions of the day at the Naples Grande Beach Resort, Saint Katherine Greek Orthodox Church, and Mira Mare Restaurant, it was a dream celebration come true for the lovely couple!
