MSP Travels: Cary, North Carolina

We love to travel! Who doesn't, right? We've been lucky enough to capture weddings & engagements from San Francisco, to NYC, to Marrakesh, Morocco! Today's blog features a wedding that we travelled to in Cary, North Carolina - a gorgeous, quiet city close to the Research Triangle.

Sherif contacted us after seeing our work on Instagram, and we fell in love with him from the very first phone call. His kind, gracious personality came across in a way that let us know we HAD to be there to capture the celebration of his marriage to the lovely Daiana. 

We started the day at the gorgeous Umstead Hotel, as Sherif & Daiana prepared to see each other for their private First Glance!

We decided to hold the couple's First Glance at the Umstead.  Absolutely perfect landscaping, beautiful water fountains, and long, winding bridged pathways all made it an ideal location for the big reveal!

**Confession: We were a tiny bit late to the First Glance because we didn't want to stop taking portraits. I mean, LOOK at these two! Can you blame us?!

Daiana & Sherif have one super-obvious thing in common: impeccable taste!

Finally, we'd reached our favorite moment of the entire wedding day.

Engaged! Maria & Ben in Naples, FL

We're big believers in engagement photography. An engagement session is a great opportunity to spend some time with us (and get used to being in front of the camera!) before your wedding day. Few things can prepare you for your wedding day like this special shoot, and magic truly happens when you see the images that result from our time together. The images will empower you to see how gorgeous you & your beloved are together - because nothing is more beautiful than true love!

Check out this engagement shoot we did for lovely couple Maria & Ben... nailed it!

Maria & Ben met us on 3rd Street in Naples, where we can get a lot of variety into a shoot.
We started in the shopping district, with its gorgeous palms, vines, and charming storefronts!

I know, right? SO cute. We can't wait for them to get married next year! Maria & Ben used their session time SO wisely, changing outfits TWICE - it let us have SO much fun with the changing scenery!

Can you believe we fit all of this in to an hour?
And before we knew it, it was time for sunset. Where could we go, but gorgeous Naples beach!

How romantic is Maria's headband and dress?! We just adore these two lovebugs!

Avantika & Sandeep

Let's talk Indian weddings. More specifically, Avantika & Sandeep's Ritz-Carlton wedding in Naples, Florida. The lovely, family-oriented culture is complimented by the bold colors, sparkly dresses, and gorgeous people that come together to celebrate new marriages! And of course, no Indian wedding would be complete without the bride's awesome henna, done a couple of days before the main celebration!

And here, my dears, is the lovely Avantika. 

An Indian bride is traditionally dressed by her female relatives. It was so sweet to see!

Avantika's other half? The kind, outgoing, cute-as-a-button Sandeep. We just adore him, and his taste - talk about handsome! 

And before we knew it, it was time to take the groom to see his gorgeous bride!

After the First Glance, the bride & groom separated for some solo celebration with their respective friends and family members. Check out how cute these ladies looked!

The traditional Baraat for the groom was so fun!

After the families welcomed each other, it was time for the marriage ceremony to begin. We headed indoors, as the gorgeous Mandap was waiting for us in one of the Ritz-Carlton ballrooms.

After a day of ceremony, they were married!

The day was done, and there was nothing left to do...but party :)

One of the most exciting parts of the evening was when the bridesmaids started a dancing flash mob, and ALL the guests joined in... just for the bride to find out that the groom had planned it all when he joined the mob as the lead dancer!

We were so lucky to share in Avantika & Sandeep's special wedding weekend!

Katie & Greg

We've seen a lot of beach weddings. So, when Katie contacted us in February about her Marco Island Marriott celebration for the following November, we knew we could expect a few things: sunshine, sand, waves, and romance.

What we didn't know? Katie is an absolute STUNNER, whose sense of fashion and seriously-better-looking-than-Prince-Charming groom (Greg) would make for an unforgettable wedding!

Seriously? Could this BE any more perfect?

Katie perfectly paired her Lazaro dress with Badgley Mischka shoes and jewelry from Rent the Runway (how brilliant is that?!). 

Katie got her hair done at The Spa at the Marriott, and she did HER OWN MAKE-UP. Repeat: she did her own make-up. This girl? Talented. Katie's ladyfriend (in the photo on the right) is her Matron of Honor, Paige.

So then, we met Greg. You know how sometimes, a couple just fits so perfectly together, it's like kismet for them to have found each other? Yeah. Greg is every bit as handsome as Katie is beautiful.

And then, before we knew it, it was time to head to the beach!

And then? They did.

Oh, did I mention, this ridiculously romantic wedding was happening on one of the most beautiful beaches in the country? Marco Island.
